REVIEW: Dinosaur Zoo Live on Stage @ Fisher Theatre Detroit through 3/18/14

Last night Dinosaur Zoo Live opened to a frenzied 10 and under crowd that packed The Fisher Theatre in Detroit in anticipation of meeting and greeting with some of their favorite prehistoric giants.

The show is hosted by Amiee Louisanne who plays the Dinosaur Zoo's Paleontologist.  She does a wonderful job leading the audience into discovering all there is to know about various species of the dinosaurs in the zoo.  Helping along both in character as zookeepers and behind the scenes as operators are a few other actors that really bring the show to life alongside Amiee's lead.

The show is very interactive with puppeteers venturing out into the audience as well as children being selected from the audience to come on stage as part of the show.  The stage is decorated with a colorful array of prehistoric plants that act as the backdrop for the presentation of very informative yet comical segments for each of the dinosaurs with the children participants being the focal point of the jokes.

The puppets are very lifelike and range in size from handheld to boom operated.

Pictures are allowed to be taken during the show (no flash) and if your child is disappointed that he didn't make it up on stage they have a meet and greet out in the foyer after the show that really seals the deal.

My 6 year old was enthralled the entire time and looks like we are heading back to The Fisher Theatre to see Dinosaur Zoo Live again this weekend!
