DETROIT ARTISTS MARKET

GARDEN PARTY & ART SALE
Thursday, June 19th, 2014, 4pm – 8pm

DETROIT — The Detroit Artists Market (DAM) is pleased to announce our annual Garden Party & Art Sale, taking place Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4pm– 8pm at the Josephine F. Ford Sculpture Garden on the Walter and Josephine Ford Campus of the College for Creative Studies (CCS).

The Annual Garden Party & Art Sale is a tradition dating back to the 1930s, when the Detroit Artists Market was founded. The event is a special way of bringing together artists and patrons for a fun afternoon of experiencing art in the beautiful outdoors. This year's event features artworks by more than 125 established and emerging local artists and will include paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, jewelry, glass, ceramics, fiber, and much more.

Our special musical entertainment is The Barrel Bother's Street Band. Guests will also enjoy appetizers and sweets generously provided by area restaurants and businesses including Slows BarBQ, Motor City Brewing Works, Mudgie's Authentic Artisan Deli, and Union Street.

The Josephine F. Ford Sculpture Garden is a unique green space that showcases sculptures from the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) within an expanse of maple and pear trees, rose and juniper shrubs, and other permanent plantings. The Sculpture Garden was made possible by generous endowment from the late Josephine F. Ford.

"We are thrilled to host this year's Garden Party & Art Sale in the Josephine F. Ford Sculpture Garden, a beautiful and relaxing community space that is perfectly suited for this summertime celebration of art and life," said DAM Director Matt Fry.
