CHEETAH CHROME CELEBRATE'S HIS BIRTHDAY WITH MID WEST TOUR DATES
Plowboy Records announces Cheetah Chrome U.S. tour dates and birthday celebration in February. SXSW label showcase details to be revealed soon
(featuring live performances by Cheetah Chrome and label mates The Ghost Wolves, Chuck Mead, and some newly signed acts).
Cheetah is fresh off his Los Angeles date supporting The Stooges' guitarist James Williamson. The show featured a veritable who's who line-up including Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Alison Mosshart (The Kills/ Dead Weather), Lisa Kekaula (The Bellrays) and many others. Press outlets throughout Los Angeles reported widely on the concert heaping the accolades high. LA Record opined "Cheetah Chrome…got the party started…" And The Los Angeles Beat wrote "There are still few things in life more thrilling than the opening riffs to "What Love Is" and "Sonic Reducer" and, like Williamson, he still plays with piss and vinegar. It was a night for old wounds opening up, bleeding, and feeling new again."
Now Cheetah is hitting the road to play the mid West including Chicago and his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. His backing band will be The Bulemics who are Gerry Atric on vocals; Wes Texas on rhythm guitar; Ginchy on lead guitar; Rob Graves on bass guitar and Machete on drums.
Cheetah Chrome Tour Itinerary (all dates may be subject to change):
Wednesday, February 18th at Hi Fi in Indianapolis, IN
Thursday, February 19th at Double Door in Chicago, IL
Friday, February 20th at Smalls in Hamtramck, MI
Saturday, February 21st at The Shrunken Head in Columbus, OH
Sunday, February 22nd at Beachland Ballroom and Tavern in Cleveland, OH
Cheetah Chrome is a founding member of Rocket From The Tombs, The Dead Boys and The Batusis (with Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls). His latest release is titled, SOLO, and includes cuts from a 1996 recording session produced by Genya Ravan (with executive producer Hilly Kristal) and from a Nashville session in 2010 featuring Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls), Lez Warner (The Cult), and Sean Koos (Joan Jett and The Blackhearts). The EP came out the same day as the CBGB movie. His autobiography, Cheetah Chrome: A Dead Boy's Tale: From the Front Lines of Punk Rock, was published in 2010.
