His Name Is Alive's stunning new offering is a psychedelic rock opera with heavy fuzz guitar depicting an epic struggle between identical twins, reflective in nature, and mirrored in twin science, secret language and mythology. Tecuciztecatl's plot pivots on mellotron melodies copied, recopied, repeated, twisted and inverted and a horror movie soundtrack vibe straight out of a bubble gum prog machine.

Described variously by the press as "absolutely beautiful” (CMJ), "a silver thread out of the labyrinth" (NME), "moody, ethereal" (Trouser Press), "lofi freakouts” (XL8R) and "haunted, wholly out of time or context" (PLAN B), the Detroit band continues to mystify with Tecuciztecatl and its longstanding tradition of bedroom dream pop experimentation that began with self-released cassettes in the late 1980s and continued for over 13 years with the 4AD label.

Since parting ways with 4AD in 2002, Warren Defever has worked full-time as a record producer, mastering engineer and remixer for artists including Yoko Ono, Thurston Moore, Michael Hurley, Iggy and the Stooges, The Gories, Destroy All Monsters, John Sinclair, Piranhas, Timmy’s Organism, Windy and Carl, Saturday Looks Good To Me, Low, Ida, Bill Dixon, Califone, Anonymous and Dark. As a study guide before attempting the harmony guitar solos on Tecuciztecatl, Warren and Dusty practiced along with an edit Warren made of every Thin Lizzy guitar solo from 1973 to 1983.
