ROCK ON THE RANGE 2015: THE SUMMER CONCERT SEASON KICK-OFF

Rotr 2015 Logo

The summer concert season is almost upon us. The BEST way to kick it off is Rock on the Range. The first festival of the season. One of the largest, with 120,000 concert goers in 2014. And most important, one of the rockingest.

RotR 2015 Line Up

Slipknot, Judas Priest, and Linkin Park anchor a stellar line-up. Check the line up after the headliners, most could of and have, headlined their own tours. But RotR excels at finding hidden talent. Bringing new bands to the masses and turning them into new fans. I'm one of them. Last years highlights for me were Crobot and Monster Truck. I can't wait to hear the break-out band for me this year.

Another strong point of RotR is getting older bands back out playing. It gives people a chance to see bands that they didn't get to see in the past. Also, it introduces the older bands to a younger generation. Saxon and Anthrax were done touring by the time I discovered them and became a fan.

Adding to the line up is a strong mix of bands that will appeal to all rockers. Marilyn Manson, Volbeat, and In This Moment are favorites of mine. New to me that I'm looking forward to seeing are We Are Harlot, Apocalyptica, and Scott Weiland& The Wildabouts.

Hanging out in the main stadium and watching the headliners is worth the price of admission, but you're limiting yourself by not venturing out to the side stages. There are many great act to see, many little nuances happening, and to get an idea how big RotR is. You might miss the comedy tent. A change of pace for break, and to lift your spirits.
