Wild At Heart

A little over a week ago I happen to catch the "Book Of Mormon". I got lucky because the show sold out weeks in advance. I went to a special lottery where they were giving away 20 tickets prior to the showtime. After watching a bunch of tickets disappear, my name came up and I got great seats to the production.

The brain child of 'South Park' creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the play follows the tale of two young missionaries assigned to brutal Uganda, where the locals are terrorized by a warlord as well as being more worried about real life issues such as AIDS and famine. While the bright Mormon prodigy finds himself getting disillusioned about his religion the goofy one turns to lies to capture the locals attention. The show is incredibly funny, somewhat offensive and just really good theatre. If you enjoyed the 'South Park' movie, you will probably love this play. I wish the songs were more memorable but the play is so drop dead funny, it doesn't matter. One of the best recent plays I have seen recently and I'm still wondering how it won all those Tony Awards being so wickedly good.

Have a good week. I'm getting ready to go to Niagara Falls this weekend but here are some concert ideas for you this week.
