Wild At Heart

Are you a fan of TV shows like True Blood and the Walking Dead? Do you like comic books or Star Wars? If you do, feel free to head over to Sterling Heights this weekend. Fantasticon runs 11AM-5PM on Saturday, April 12th @ Freedom Hill w/ over 60 dealers of TV and movie memorabilia. Artist William Messner-Loebs (one of my favorite Wonder Woman artists ) and horror writer T Casey Brennan (Vampirella, Eerie and Creepy) are a couple of the guests.

If you are a high school student who is planning on studying music in college, the Rackham Symphony Choir is offering an intern program. For some lucky students this includes an opportunity for weekly vocal instruction, a chance to perform large scale works with a professional orchestra and at least one performance at the lovely Detroit Opera House. This could be a great opportunity for the right student so to learn more, go to www.rackhamchoir.com soon as possible since applications are due by May 1st.

If you make it big, maybe you can play at some of this venues as here are my concerts of choice this week:

Wednesday (4/9) - Amy Lavere @ Hatchys (Utica)

Friday (4/11) - Frustrations @ PJ's Lager House, Ragbirds @ Royal Oak Farmers Market

Saturday (4/12) - Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings @ Majestic Theatre, The Singles (record release party) w/Handgrenades and Amy Gore and Her Valentines, Cher w/Pat Benatar and Niel Giraldo @ Joe Loius Arena, Icono Pop opens for Miley Cyrus @ Palace Of Auburn Hills
