It is so true, and was so fun! Monday night a concert -- a sold out concert -- at the amazing Callahan's Music Hall. John Mayall and his band brought out a music lovers from all over the Michigan. Where else can you meet and greet a Blue's great, enjoy a good food and drink, and be so close to the stage that you feel like you are part of the the band.
If you have a chance to see John Mayall while he is touring you will see a guy that is really well put together and surprising young for his age. Watching him I was thinking, this guy was playing music festivals and stages since the '60's, and here he is rocking the place! He didn't rely on his band to hold him up, although they were really great too.
Big surprise for me though was the band Horse Cave Trio. They opened for John with an acoustical set that brought the house to their feet. In a short opening set this band went played Rockabilly, Johnny Cash, the Blues and Rock. If the concert would have ended there it would not have been a loss. Best news -- Horse Cave Trio is back at Callahan's Music Hall on Friday, November 12. If you haven't been to Callahan's, check them out for Horse Cave Trio. It will be a very good night of music.
