“I’m extremely excited about this year’s WYCD Downtown Hoedown line up,” WYCD Operations Manager/Program Director Tim Roberts said. “As always, we have a fabulous, diverse and monster line up coming to downtown Detroit with mega superstars, energized performers, hot new country names and a sampling of artists from metro Detroit’s local country scene. Three days, over 50 acts and it’s all free. That is what the WYCD Downtown Hoedown is all about, right here in the heart of the Motor City.”
Event sponsors include Budweiser, Greektown Casino-Hotel, WDIV TV, AT&T Yellow Pages, Napa Auto Parts, U.S. Bank and others. The 99.5 WYCD Downtown Hoedown remains the largest free country music concert in the world. Debuting in 1983, the annual event has played host to such legendary country artists as Hank Williams, Jr., Brenda Lee, Tanya Tucker, Mel Tillis and Willie Nelson, revered megastars Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Big & Rich, and today’s most popular breakout country and crossover bands like Rascal Flatts, Lonestar and Lady Antebellum.
