Traditionally, the Belle Isle Aquarium’s collection of koi fish have been celebrated at the annual koi transfer. With renovations to the lily pond being made to sustain life outdoors for the fish year-round, the koi transfer will not be held.
In its place, the Belle Isle Conservancy will host an annual Koi Festival, a family friendly event on the first Saturday of May (in correlation with Japan’s Koinobori Festival and Children’s Day celebrated on May 5th). This inaugural event will celebrate Japanese culture and the significance of the the koi fish.

Fresh on the heels of Coachella, The xx will make a stop in Detroit tonight. These guys are on tour in North America in support of their latest record, I See You, released in the beginning of 2017.
The record sounds triumphant and celebratory," says Jamie, of their third long-player, "but the journey we went on and what we had to go through to get to this point should be acknowledged." I See You is the spoils of four hard year's labour, a vertiginous new height scaled for the pop group. It is a record that sees them performing with optimum new nerve, transparency and clarity.
