Lift is pleased to announce metropolitan Detroit’s third Munny art exhibit, featuring over 30 local, national and international artists.

The opening reception will be held at Lift on Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 7 PM to 11 PM.

The show will continue through January 6, 2008.
Admission to the show is free and all ages are welcome.
Created by Kidrobot, a Munny is a blank vinyl figure ready to be decorated by an artist.
This genre of art can also be referred to as “urban vinyl”.
Collectible designer toys are rapidly growing in popularity through the United States and beyond.

We have a number of talented artists from across the country submitting works (listed below).
Many of the works will be available for purchase during the show.
Art not sold on the opening night will be available for sale on the internet.

A panel of judges will choose winners from all submitted entries.
The following awards will be presented at the opening reception:
$150 First Place
$100 GC Second Place
$50 GC Best Youth Artist (under 18 years old)
$50 $50 GC Best New Artist (first Munny show AND no previous art sales)
$100 GC Crowd favorite as voted on by attendees of the opening reception

Detroit Rock City Festival ???

I keep reading all the people bitching about the blowout and this detour festival and sure "the problem" has been resolved but really I would have liked to see both events take place at the same time - the strongest survive in the dog eat dog world called motorcity.

In any case - hopefully the whiny bitches have complained enough and although the events are now slated for different dates show some fucking allegiance man - i mean the blowout is old school and to be honest - just because detour-mag stakes claim to the name doesnt mean Rock City should have major not from detroit bands - its Detroit Rock City for a reason - geez.

Put them back on the same week and lets have a superfest man
So you have to make a decision on what bands to see and where to go - give me a break
I used a dartboard last year to choose my list Thur / Fri / Sat 2007 hamtramck blowout
