In front of a jam packed house at Elektricity on Friday, the Trap to the Future tour came knocking on our door and brought the house down. Kicking it off the hinges with local DJs Dekglo & Regnasty and Fake Gold Chain, the night was filled crunchy, crunk music with heavy beats and hip hop. DJ Zebo from Chicago played next and told me later the Trap to the Future comes from his set of music and what is referred to as "Trap" music. Trap comes from a type of music payed down south in drug dens and other illicit joints that features hazy break beats and crunk rap. Zebo's set encompassed more than that as he brought in some dubstep and 8-bit jams. Crizzly played a set of crazy disharmonious beats that sent the crowd reeling. Araabmuzik wrapped the whole thing up with his truly unique brand of DJ electronic music infused with today's hard hip hop hits.
