Eliza will perform along with other songwriters
and has begun to put the parts together for a new album,
and expects to give you a listen to some of her new songs!

A mixed line up of Upcoming Detroit Songwriters,
recognized for their contribution to the art will perform,
organized by Music Man, John D Lamb.

Legendary Motown Songwriter Barrett Strong to Perform at Detroit’s Hard Rock Cafe Detroit
on August 12 for Rare Interactive Event




On the Rocks Detroit, in conjunction with Eliza Neals, present the "Sizzling Summer in the D" series featuring "An Evening with Barrett Strong" on Thursday, August 12 at 8 p.m. at Detroit’s Hard Rock Cafe.


Admission is only $5 and all ages are welcome to attend. This rare event takes one personally back to the very first days of Motown and should not be missed by music fans young and old! Strong's recent performance at B.B. Kings in New York City was a sold out smash sponsored by American Express.



Accompanied by Detroit rock ‘n soul vocalist and Strong’s protégé' Eliza Neals, the duo will perform many of Stong’s classic hits such as “Money” and “I Heard It Through The Grapevine”.

In addition to the musical performances, Strong will discuss the stories behind the songs that have become the soundtrack to our lives. He will reveal how he helped pen some of America’s most loved soul anthems in this very special interactive performance.

Strong's unique stories include; his writing partner Norman Whitfield, Berry Gordy the founder of 'Motown Records', Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, The Funk Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and many of the Motown greats.

Strong will open his heart and the floor to any and all attendees who have questions about the iconic Motown Records, and about Strong’s experience writing, performing and collaborating with Motown’s biggest stars. A drop box for questions from the audience will be collected prior to the performance. This is an extraordinary opportunity to meet and hear Motown legend Barrett Strong in a personal setting for unforgettable night of music and Motown history!

Hope for the Holidays Acoustic Jam presented by On The Rocks - Crofoot Ballroom - Thur Dec 18th

Hope for the Holidays Acoustic Jam on December 18 at The Crofoot Ballroom

Join Billboard.com, 93.9 The River and On The Rocks Detroit for a one of a kind holiday hootenanny featuring Detroit’s top singer/songwriters on Thursday, December 18 at The Crofoot Ballroom (1 South Saginaw, Pontiac, MI). Doors are at 7:00 p.m., tickets are $8, and ages 18 and over are welcome. This charity event benefits Hope Hospitality and Warming Center, which provides emergency food and shelter to homeless individuals and families in Northern Oakland County during the winter months.

Performing for the first time together in an intimate “in the round” setting will be Sponge’s Vinnie Dombroski, Ty Stone (Atlantic Records), Bravo TV’s Eliza Neals, Brandon Calhoon (“Rockstar INXS”), Whitey Morgan, Robin Horlock, Pato Margetic, Frankie D’Angelo, Don “Doop” Duprie, Matt Dmits and more. These acclaimed rock, pop and country troubadours will take turns singing holiday favorites and originals in a “revolver style” acoustic show.

In addition to this stellar line up, there will be a silent auction comprised of autographed Kid Rock CDs, Pistons merchandise, a VIP table for four at the 2009 Detroit Music Awards, art from acclaimed photographer Monte Nagler, and gift certificates and products from Showtime Clothing, Priss Make Up, Flagstar Bank, Schakolad Chocolate Factory, Chaud Jeans, Gary Graff, Bohemian Rhapsody and Lucky Monkey Tattoo and Piercing.

Attendees can also shop ‘til they drop at the Holiday Vendor-rama upstairs on The Crofoot’s balcony. The Next Few Weeks For MCB is going to be awesome!




Time for a vacation for a few of us lucky ones here at MCB- really.
Heading to the sun and sand land for a few weeks returning only to enjoy EarthFest April 19th
