UPCOMING (Sat. Dec 19): We Wish You an Ugly Christmas II with Ugly But Proud at The Ritz in Warren

We Wish You an Ugly Christmas II Reunites 80's Thrash Metal Bands for Charity on 12/19 at The Ritz
Headliners Ugly But Proud Celebrate 30th Anniversary

The 2nd annual We Wish You An Ugly Christmas – a concert featuring mostly 80’s Detroit thrash metal bands is at The Ritz in Warren, MI on Saturday, December 19, 2015.

Admission is $10, or just $5 with a donation of a new unwrapped toy or 4 canned goods/nonperishable goods.
A portion of the proceeds and ALL donations to the event will benefit local charities All About Animals, a Metro Detroit pet rescue, and the Warren chapter of Goodfellows, helping needy families and individuals during the holidays.

Ages 18 and over are welcome to attend.

Pioneering thrash metal punks Ugly But Proud headline the show. Formed in 1985, the Detroit band is celebrating its 30th Anniversary.  Although only releasing two albums “Knuckles From Nowhere” (1987) and “Bein’ Ugly is Alright” (1994), Ugly But Proud was a major force in the Detroit thrash metal scene throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Ugly But Proud is equal parts Motorhead, Exodus, Judas Priest and Alice Cooper.  Renowned for their high energy, theatrical live performances, Ugly But Proud will also be debuting two new songs at the show.

Ugly But Proud’s mosh-pit inducing peers: Gore, Blasphemous and Raw Image open the show - making this perhaps, the largest reunion of Detroit thrash metal bands of the 80’s and 90’s eras in recent years.

Hard Edge Radio’s Howie Herula and Rachel May are hosting the event, with May’s Dio focused Black Sabbath Tribute “Banned from H.E.L.L.” also performing that night. “This will be an incredible night of raw, Detroit thrash metal – a line up that hasn’t been seen since the hey day of Blondie’s and the Graystone Theater,” says Herula.  “It’s a rare reunion of some of the most influential bands of the thrash/metal/punk and hardcore genres, benefitting two important local charities,” he adds.
