Review and Slideshows: Datsik ROMT Oct. 5, 2012

Datsik and his Firepower cohorts stormed into Royal Oak Music Theatre on a rainy, cold night that did have an ounce of impact on the enthusiasm or the fashion at this dubtastic show. The show started at 9pm with a small DJ table in font of the closed curtains. The opening DJs made the best use of their minimal set up spilling out almost constant dubstep (or at least the what meet's today's def of dubstep) in dazzling bursts that made up for what it lacked in differentiation with volume and intensity.

Terravita, a trio that includes a MC, changed up the pace and really got the crowd moving and shaking with an inspired set of hip hop injected dubstep.

After Terravita, the DJ table was removed and the curtains were drawn to reveal Datsik's incredible spiral-DJ stage set. Datsik cleaned up the night with his signature dubstep style that combines surging bass, hip hop and epic dubstep orchestrations.

Detroit audiences are still the best, as evidence, numerous times it was shouted out that this show had the craziest and loudest crowd yet.The crowd was made up of a youthful, exuberant cast of hundreds covered in the bright fluorescent garb that matched the intensity of the sound with their own rebel yell of dancing and fist pumping.
