Detroit Industrial Projects presents "Image Meets Text", a mixed-media art installation by Detroit artists, CamieLee Frasher, Dan Frasher, Amy Probst; Chicago Artist, Jerry Anderson; Toledo artists, Jacob Baker, Chris Everett, Mike Strezinski; and music/video performance by The Sugar People. This unique group of emerging writers, artists and musicians collaborate in one space to create a show that explores the relationship between image, text and the controversies and meanings in life that exist between the two.
The Sugar People embark on a cerebral departure from traditional guitar, bass and drums, delivering a message enhancing all five senses. Forming an ambient sound through atmospheric tones influenced by the tough economy, life's everyday challenges, and true life stories from the group's vocalists, The Sugar People create music best described by fusing rock, funk, soul, pop and country.
