The 13th year of Dirtfest mixed national, international and local musicians. The lineup included the Michigan tour stop of the 2009 Summer Slaughter Tour, featuring German technical metal band Necrophagist and tour mates Origin, Darkest Hour, Dying Fetus, Born of Osiris, Winds of Plague et al.This year's batch of Michigan metal included Battlecross, I Decay, Bahamut, Downwards, Red I Flight, King, Besieged, Deadringer, To the Barricades, Desiring Dead Flesh, Girl Scout Hand Grenade, Your Best Friend, 2nd System, Beast in the Field and more.
