FAUST by Carjack
FAUST. The legendary 70's German art rock band who literally coined the name KRAUTROCK took over the MOCAD for two straight nights earlier this week.
On Monday, they had an open workshop which blurred the lines between audience & band. Then on Tuesday, ended their Detroit stay with a gloriously noisy performance.
Not only did they play from their entire catalog, they even played some of their most accessible songs from FAUST IV (Sad Skin Head, Jennifer, Giggy Smile, etc..)
and encored with 'It's a Rainy Sunshine, Sunshine Girl' from the album 'So Far'.
Oh yeah - did I happen to mention the use of power drills, welding equipment, toxic waste barrels, staged fight theatrics along the way?
Here's a few photos and videos I snuck in throughout the show while almost being hit by a wailing guitar.
Enjoy.
