| Hell-oh DAMNED f(r)iends and welcome to the new DAMNED Newsletter! Corpus Illuminata II - An Anatomic Interpretation
We request the honour of your presence to witness the return of an extraordinary exposition of medical exploration entitled Corpus Illuminata II ~ An Anatomic Interpretation. Hosted at the Detroit's Tangent Gallery, this unique event will consist of one part exhibition of anatomic-inspired artwork, one part showcase of medical antiquities and one part academia of accredited presentations.  The exhibition portion will feature various artistic explorations from artists local and across the nation. Within the museum portion, collectors of Victorian-era medical instruments, quackery and oddities will showcase their cherished pieces ranging from surgical to mortuary. On stage, various speakers will present and discuss a variety of topics involving human anatomy and other intriguing subject matters. Video installations within the venue will be feature films and videos ranging from historical medical experimentations, human autopsies, artistic interpretations and more. This year's addition includes a bazaar for the sales and trading of medical antiquities and related oddities. The gala begins at 6pm until Midnight on the 10th and 11th of August 2012. All ages are welcome, however discretion must be advised due to graphic medical content. Those under 18 Years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Admission is 10 Dollars or 5 Dollars with valid student identification. Children 12 Years and under are admitted free. 12/08 Krampus Night II / Wreck the Halls Exhibition - On December 8th, the DAMNED devils again are restless and throwing a festive holiday party! Krampus Night is a night filled with spiked punch, holiday lounge music, vintage holiday B-movies, festive holiday decor and a DAMNED tree. Also included is the second annual "Wreck The Halls" exhibition where artist re-engineer those pretty twinkling lights displays and adorable character animatronics into the festive monstrosities they've always wanted to build. 10/25-27 DAMNED - An Exhibition of Enlightened Darkness - Now in it's 5th fiery year, DAMNED is an extraordinary assemblage of artists from across this world offering a glimpse within the diverse shadows of id and ego…of overall mind and encompassing soul, guaranteed to intrigue, disturb, inspire or repulse. This is not Halloween-themed art but an immersion within the immeasurable realms of consciousness through an elegant ambiance of live strings and cirque/butoh-inspired performances.
