Pittsburgh Track Authority, the Pittsburgh trio whose
repertoire boasts vinyl, vintage and analog, makes a Detroit return on Friday
night to DJ at The Whiskey Disco. Earlier
this year PTA released their first full-length LP, Enter the Machine Age.
Released on their own Pittsburgh Tracks imprint, the album demonstrates
the wide array of expertise and knowledge years of music making/collecting can
provide.
With notable Detroit influence
in both their record collection and original productions, you'll feel something
familiar when hearing these guys play.
Just
last month, Detroit producer Waajeed (under the alias Church Boy Lou) remixed
their Raw Ten dancefloor monster track Funny Thing.
After going to a couple of
late night Hot Mass parties of which Pittsburgh Track Authority, along with a small handful of others
including co-founders Aaron Clark and Edgar Um, are residents, I was hooked on
their expansive appeal. Their DJ sets are delivered from their music loving hearts to the music lovers of the dancefloor. Show up ready to dance and expect to sweat.
