Songs From The Moon is an avant-pop/rock collective fronted by songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jonathan A. Berz (keyboardist of the Walking Beat, formerly of Blasé Splee). SFTM was formed in 2010 with core members Ed Sertage (Bedford Drive), Ryan Looney (Bedford Drive, The Walking Beat) and Shaun Wisniewski (formerly of Old Empire).
Jon has been a musician in the Detroit area for 20 years and has performed around a thousand shows. This year he contributed live keyboards with the High Strung and played sound effects for live readings from High Strung frontman Josh Malerman's debut novel Bird Box to blindfolded audiences. Jon also plays keyboards with Yes Wait No (3/5 of Blasé Splee w/ members of The Cause and DAD 1000) and produces records along with Sertage and Looney at Woodshed Studios in Oak Park. Songs From The Moon's music is constantly evolving.
Their new EP Blood For Power fuses Zappa-esque freakouts with anthemic power-pop, ambient drone and melodic indie rock.
