At nine years old, Derek Trucks was already garnering attention as a guitar prodigy. Now, just shy of his 30th birthday, Trucks trades off lead guitar duties in the Allman Brothers Band with Warren Haynes and rocks a musical exploration of improvisation through a mixture of southern rock, world music, jazz, and soul in his highly-regarded ‘side project’ The Derek Trucks Band.This coming Tuesday, June 9th, the Derek Trucks’ Band is the day right after Derek Trucks’ 30th Birthday – come out to the Royal Oak Music Theater on Tuesday night to join in the celebration.
