Susan Wood, an independent arts consultant, has been engaged by the Kresge Foundation to manage their new Community Arts Grant program. Grants totally $100,000 a year for each of two years and ranging in size from $2,500 to $10,000 will be made to artists, community organizations, schools, arts organizations and other non profit entities. The goal is to encourage people to use arts and culture to address community issues and needs, and to encourage cross-sector collaboration. The program is also being piloted in Baltimore and St. Louis.
