Singer-songwriter Ron Pope is touring to support his 2014 album,
Calling Off the Dogs, and he is scheduled to play in Michigan at Ann Arbor's Blind Pig on Monday, March 24th. The Georgia-rasied, NYC-based artist toured the UK last month, and has already played sold out shows in Chicago and Minneapolis. Ron Pope began his music career with NYC's The District, a band comprised of classmates from NYU. His time spent with his band played a significant role in his songwriting style. His 2006 song, "Drop In The Ocean" created major buzz on YouTube.com with over 30 million hits to date, and was featured on television programs
The Vampire Diaries,
90210, and
So You Think You Can Dance. Thanks to the internet buzz and television exposure, "Drop In The Ocean" is a top 100 download on iTunes. Ron's tour will continue on through the U.S. and Europe, with sold out shows coming up in Cambridge, MA, and Zermatt, Switzerland. Scheduled to open for Ron Pope is Von Grey (Atlanta), and Andrea Nardello (Philadelphia).
