Led Zeppelin 2 @ St. Andrew's Hall Review

Words: Sue Static; Photos: Peter Schorn/Rock Out Shots
Led Zeppelin 2, the ultimate Led Zeppelin experience came to town on Friday, March 7 at St. Andrew's Hall making their second appearance at the venue after their sold out show late last year. The Chicago tribute band performed an over two-hour show of Led Zeppelin hits and obscure gems to the enthusiastic crowd of Detroit classic rock fans some who even brought their kids too!

The quartet  is made up of lead guitarist Paul Kamp, who is no stranger to Detroit having played
here numerous times over the years in his original band Busker Soundcheck, who first appeared on
the track “Trip to Mars” on local label Chaos Records Midwest compilation “A Fist Full of Chaos"
back in '91.

Lead singer Bruce Lamont portrays Robert Plant in not only appearance but in his distinctive vocal
style. The band is completed by drummer Ian Lee and bassist Matthew Longbons respectively.
Led Zeppelin 2 bring the complete Led Zeppelin experience to the stage for those who missed
being there or were too young to catch the band back in the day. From their half-hour long version
of “Dazed & Confused” to a rousing rendition of “Rock N' Roll” their set was chock full of
Zeppelin favorites. One hopes that they continue to add later era Zeppelin songs to the mix as well;
would love to hear “In the Evening” live.

The band plans on recreating the entire double album “Physical Graffiti”  at their next Chicago
show at the House Of Blues on March 22. If you are a  Led Zeppelin fan or classic rock
afficianado you should definitely check them out next time they pass thru town, you won't be
disappointed!
