FINAL CLOSING EVENT - CPOP Detroit - Sat Jun 13th 2009

MCB's Amy Palomar was the official photographer of the evening for CPOPs gallery opening/final exhibition last month - get on over to the detroit staple next week to say goodbye and then dismantle the fucking building brick by brick.

©POP Gallery Announces The Closing Event for “It’s All About ©”
Reception Scheduled as Final Event at Current Location

©POP Gallery, Detroit’s award winning art gallery, is excited to announce the closing reception for its current and potentially final exhibit, “It’s All About ©”. The event is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 6PM to 11PM.

“It’s All About ©” is an exhibition of unrivaled creative magnitude, celebrating over 10 years of the gallery’s run at its iconic location in Detroit. This historic show features many of the artists that ©POP introduced to the art community, including Niagara, Glenn Barr, Mark Dancey, Tristan Eaton, Derek Hess, The Pizz and ©POP owner Tom Thewes, Jr.

The closing event concludes what could be the gallery’s final exhibition at its Detroit location. The current economic condition coupled with Thewes’ global vision for the ©POP brand has led to the decision to explore alternative options to operating a “brick and mortar” gallery.

With the fire of its mission still fiercely burning, the gallery will continue to internationally promote and exhibit what it considers to be the most important global cultural movement in history. By focusing on web and print based resources, alternative exhibition opportunities and entertainment programming, ©POP will move further forward as the leader of this aesthetic movement.

©POP Gallery will launch its new website, this summer. The expanded and improved site will allow the brand to reach art fans and buyers across the globe and allow ©POP to promote new artists and products in a relevant and forward-thinking way.
