Honey Locust
w/ Legendary Creatures, Macrame Tigers and Estuaries
Monday, April 16th at PJ's Lager House
$5, 9PM
Anchored in folk, Honey Locust blends a multitude of instruments to create a lush, Southern gothic sound. Honey Locust's instruments characterize them better than explanations or comparisons: They play viola, accordion, guitar, claw-hammer banjo, ukulele, mandolin, piano, organ, bass, percussion, they sing, and they stomp. Their music falls somewhere on the folk spectrum; the songs are orchestral but simple. Their roots lie in ole time, classical, traditional and contemporary folk, country and rock 'n' roll. This EP is honest to everything in their past and present. Fear is a feeling, and it’s taken the production of this EP for them to overcome it, to strip away what doesn’t matter and leave only what’s sincere.
