Toxie began as a one-off recording marathon between Will McElroy (Magic Kids, Barbaras) and singer/bassist Alexandra Burden over four days before parting ways indefinitely. When Alexandra was finished leaving town forever, the two regrouped in Memphis and teamed with recent transplant Madison Farmer (Coasting/Chain & the Gang) and drummer Ben Bauermeister (Magic Kids). Dozens of late nights and 40 band names later, Toxie embodies a jagged assembly of pop moves belying an intrinsic desire to Destroy Everything. Recommended based on your interest in Wire, Blade Runner, the Breeders and robotic dogs.
