Silent Lions are Toledo, Ohio’s terrible two-some of spooky soul.
Dean Tartaglia plays effected bass (octave pedals, freak fuzz, atmospheric
synths) with an arsenal of vocal distortions; drummer Matt Klein thrashes beside
him, often providing soulful singalong harmonies. Silent Lions’ live shows sound
as thick and creamy as they do on record. Their music has been tagged as “Spook
Soul”, “Chill Punk”, and “Black Keys Destroy Nevermind.”
Their first release, 'The Parliaments,’ finds a weird world of
ridiculously catchy pop hooks, born from lo-fi chaos, yet flowing smoothly from
each 'verbed out track to the next. Produced by unofficial third member Zach
Shipps (Electric Six), the songs draw you in, the production allowing you to
hear them in a different light each time.
