SPACEHOG ANNOUNCES CALL FOR STREETHOG STREET TEAM – FANS TO JOIN BAND AS SOCIAL AMBASSADORS DURING THEIR RETURN TO LIVE PERFORMANCE IN NORTH AMERICA
Meet-and-Greets and Signed Copies of New Album AS IT IS ON EARTH To Be Awarded For Participation In Campaign For Tour Beginning November 20 in Boston
New York, NY 11.06.13 Spacehog’s Royston Langdon and Jonny Cragg thanked the band’s fans today in personal messages on Spacehog’s Facebook page for the extraordinary fan support and appreciation of the band’s return to touring in North America after a hiatus by creating an interactive fan-appreciation team known as “streethog”. The streethog street team members (#streethog) are invited by the band to download a special tour poster, share it with friends, hand it out and distribute it in other ways as well as express their own creativity through producing their own videos, photos and personal expressions and posting them to their own social media assets as well as to the band’s Facebook page with the hashtag #streethog. Every entrant will receive a personalized welcome from a band member as well as be welcomed to a meet and greet with the band in the city nearest them along the tour route. Additionally, the streethog team will choose one submission in each tour market to receive a VIP streethog care package which the band will sign. Any streethog members outside of the current touring area will be entered into their own contest and awarded with a special thank you gift from the band.
Spacehog returns from performing in Europe to co-headline US and Canadian dates with Sponge. Prior to the tour, the band will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Harp in Boston on November 20th. A complete schedule of the dates on sale now can be found at Spacehog.com and at the end of this announcement. The band will perform their #1 hit, “In The Meantime”, other classic Spacehog tunes, music from the recently released album As It Is On Earth as well as the brand new track, “You Can’t Go Home Again”, which debuted as a duet between Royston Langdon and Liv Tyler in her live singing debut at the recent Spacehog benefit for the David Lynch Foundation First Responders Initiative with special guests Liv Tyler and Sean Lennon. The live intimate performance was beamed from a NYC rooftop to computers worldwide and was co-created by Royston and Marc Scrivo, who also directed, of STUDIO SCRIVO in Soho, New York. Continue to follow @Spacehog and @LynchFoundation for further collaborations.
