The weather forecast for this weekend is looking clear and warm but with a good chance for movement. The “movement” would be the action your body and thousands of others will be making at the Movement Festival at Hart Plaza. With over 100 artists spanning six stages, this year’s Movement promises to be another landmark year for the event and for the city of Detroit. Yes, the pricing of the festival has moved up into the range of other big festivals so get ready to lay down some real cash if you don’t have your tickets yet. However, the price is justifiable after seeing some of the biggest names in electronic music that are appearing this year.
Saturday, Claude Von Stroke is closing out the Beatport stage. I saw him at Royal Oak Theatre last year and his sets are an amazing mix of EDM and trance. Sunday, the closer on the Red Bull Stage includes Richie Hawtin coming back to Movement for another of his epic sets. Monday, the closers are all spectacular with Carl Cox, Boys Noize and Flosstradamus. All are appearing in the same 10:30pm – 12AM time slot which is sure to leave the surviving crowd with some hard decisions to make.
