I always enjoyed voting for the Detroit Music Awards though I found it hard last year being away from the scene for a few years now so this year I didn't even submit any votes. This saddened me a bit since I loved the local Detroit music scene but it was getting to the point where I knew fewer and fewer of the acts. However with the 2014 winners, kudos to my friends Emily Rose (acoustic artist), Jill Jack (folk artist and songwriter) and Il Segreto String Quartet (classical small ensemble) and to all the other winner.
