Paste Magazine/WOXY/IMEEM Present:
The Deep Vibration w/Roman Candle, Much Too Much, Bloodbird
10pm
$5
Nashville's The Deep Vibration is a rock and roll band playing American music. In a time when it might be more popular to play pitch perfected, pop or distanced, ‘hipper than thou’ indie rock, their sound calls a listener back to a stark simplicity and authenticity. A lean and gritty four-piece, The Deep Vibration has surprised Nashville with their heartfelt explorations and maturity, earned from years of listening and learning from the classics.
Roman Candle is one of the best, most complete American rock bands to surface in a decade ... After all, (they are) better at what they do--writing imaginative pop songs and building them into captivating four-minute Southern-air epics with the unleashed spirit of The Replacements and unorthodox intuition of Wilco--than any other "band on the verge" in memory.
Much Too Much are five guys from Detroit who came together via Craigslist. It's pretty straightforward: they try to make some good music with simple structures, some catchy hooks, good beats, lot's of layering and dynamics and a slight element of the unorthodox. They do not wear eyeliner, give ourselves ridiculous haircuts, or dress in outfits that would make us look like a bunch of goons. Just play music!
Opening up the night are Bloodbird who are sure to steal the show
