MCB's Brett Lawrence was out for the Detroit Tiger's Opening Day
party at the Fillmore Detroit as well as Comerica Park for the game
"A crisp and cool April morning followed by a perfectly sunny and warm Friday afternoon ballgame at Comerica Park for the 2009 Detroit Tigers Opening Day game against the Texas Rangers.
Without any real bullpen to rely on for this upcoming season, and some rather questionable position players, the Detroit Tigers are not expected to perform anywhere near their miraculous 2006 season that took them to the World Series. Judgemental fans and errogant media personalities have all but written the Boys off for this season. Well, apparently none of the players are listening because the Tigers proceeded to crush the Rangers by a score of...wait for it...wait for it...15-2. Yes, you read that correctly.
Some highlights of the game were Cabrera's Grand Slam, Larish's home run on his first at bat as the new designated hitter in Comerica Park and Galaraga's perfectly pitched 6 innings. This was NOT the team that the media has been complaining about.
This was the PERFECT way to spend a Friday morning and afternoon with Friends in Detroit.
I need to thank Bobby Alcott for the opportunity to attend the game and sit in the BEST seats I have EVER sat in in the park...4 rows above the visitors dugout. Amazing. Thank you, Bobby. " - Brett Lawrence
