Metro Detroitʼs largest used book and media sale where all proceeds benefit literacy and education projects in metropolitan Detroit, will be held Sunday, April26 through Sunday, May 3 at Livoniaʼs Laurel Park Place.
The Detroit News Columnist Neal Rubin and Detroit Free Press Columnist Rochelle Riley are Honorary Co-Chairs of Bookstock.
A true book loverʼs paradise, Bookstock has tens of thousands ofdonated used books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, magazines and recordsfor sale at bargain basement prices. Savvy shoppers and collectors canget first crack at the Bookstock Pre-Sale on Sunday, April 26 from8:45 – 11:45 a.m.
The sale will continue through Sunday May 3, runningSundays, noon- 6:00 p.m. and Monday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
There is a $10.00 admission charge for the Bookstock Pre-Sale only.
Books will be sold for half-price on Sunday, May 3, the last day of the sale.
Bookstock has generated more than $350,000 for literacy and education programs throughout Oakland County and Detroit in its first six yearsalone. All books and media items sold at Bookstock are donated atcollection sites throughout the year. More than 700 volunteers work together throughout the year to collect and sort donations andorganize and staff the weeklong Bookstock sale.
Bookstock is sponsored by the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy,the Oakland Literacy Council, the Jewish Community Relations Council,Detroit Jewish News, and a consortium of Jewish communal non-profitorganizations which support education and literacy projects throughout metro Detroit.
