In one word, the October 6th Mitten Movie Project is BADASS. The October MMP is the last month of regular programming until January 2010 as the November 3rd MMP is ZOMBIE NIGHT and the December 1st MMP is the Best of the Mitten Movie Project.
From start to finish, the lineup is extremely solid (even more so than the July MMP). Gracing the screen this month are two Edgar Allen Poe adaptations, “Qing Lou Nu” directed by Bryan D. Hopkins, which is an adaptation of Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” and the multi-award winning short, “Dark Heart” directed by Robert Joseph Butler. Also screening is “A Little Knowledge,” the winner of the 2009 Detroit 48 Hour Film Challenge, and a tribute to urban exploring with the PSA “Save Detroit’s Michigan Central Station” and the eerily beautiful music video, “Don’t Cry Baby,” a video from Single Barrel Detroit’s Lee Plaza series.
