SOUNDTRACK 90210
TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 13

Collection Features Brand New & Exclusive Tracks
From Some Of Music’s Most Popular Artists

All Songs Set For Placement In This Season’s Episodes

CBS Records will release a specially produced soundtrack for the hit television series 90210 on Tuesday, October 13. Soundtrack 90210 features 14 brand new tracks from some of music’s biggest names, including Adele with The Raconteurs, N.E.R.D. featuring Santigold, JET, Anberlin, MuteMath, Owl City, OK Go and Parachute, all set for placement in 90210 episodes during the 2009 - 2010 season.

Last night’s episode of 90210, “To Sext Or Not To Sext” featured a brand new song from OK Go, “I Want You So Bad,” which marked the first placement in an episode of a song from the forthcoming soundtrack.

90210 executive producer Rebecca Sinclair and music supervisor Scott Vener listened to dozens of submitted tracks before choosing the ones best suited for the show’s upcoming storylines. Soundtrack 90210 stands apart from television show soundtrack which merely compile a selection of songs that were heard in a series’ previous episodes. Instead, this collection features all brand new and previously unreleased tracks that will be integrated into upcoming episodes and make Soundtrack 90210 a true representation of the show’s music sensibilities throughout the current season.

As Sinclair explains, “The music that we are using this season on 90210 reflects the show; it's fresh, eclectic, passionate and fun. I'm thrilled with the wonderful artists who have given us all these great songs and excited to share the soundtrack of the show with everybody.”
90210 airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. central on The CW.

“A UK electro-house talent whose been building up a ton of heat in the past few months with sweaty, anthemic originals and even bigger-arena remixes” -The Culture of Me
"Boasting a sound that forges elements of Boys Noize or Mylo’s hard electro with the Scandinavian/Balearic space-disco of Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas …Expect big things from BURNS in the near future!” -Limewire
“An electronic remix factory with a very high quality control” -MixMag

Name-checked as one to watch by Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Mylo, Calvin Harris, Eddie Temple Morris, DJ Mehdi, Deadmau5, and a host of blogs alike, 23-year-old BURNS is the electronic wunderkind tipped to take British dance music into the next decade.

Now a regular fixture on the Hype Machine chart, BURNS has been called up for remix duties by Kasabian, Empire of the Sun, Late Of The Pier, Passion Pit, Filthy Dukes, Yuksek, Melanie Fiona, Calvin Harris (who even named a song after him on his forthcoming #1 UK album), and the Gossip.

BURNS 3 (Teknique EP) is the third instalment in his 4 EP series. The previous release featured ‘Turbo’ and ‘Heartbeats’, (plus a Jokers Of The Scene remix of ‘Turbo’).

Born on Halloween 1985, he’s the son of a painter mother and a professional heavyweight boxer father. Burns enjoyed a childhood spent combining amateur boxing with learning to play the piano and guitar, discovering the delights of sampling software in his spare time.

While BURNS has gained notoriety for the kind of sonic bursts associated with European stalwarts such as Justice and Boyz Noise (but stamped with the kind of rave (un)sensibility that could only come from a British upbringing), there’s far more in his kitbag than all out aural assaults, hence his support from a wide range of DJs including Erol Alkan, A-Trak, DJ Mehdi, Dubfire, Don Diablo, and beyond. His ear for melody shows he can match the likes of Falke and Lindstrom note for blissful note.

The ‘Teknique EP’ once again points to BURNS’ ability to pursue his own musical agenda through a variety of styles. ‘Teknique’ is an epic dancefloor banger, with a seismic piano riff; ‘First Move’ is a quirky, off kilter stride through filtered loops and effects, while ‘In My Eyes’ is the latest missive from his disco arsenal, drawing comparisons with A-Trak and Armand’s Duck Sauce Project. Remixes come courtesy of Fred Falke and His Majesty Andre.

In keeping with its long-standing history of bringing ground-breaking new artists to the masses, Scion is about to drop Scion CD Sampler V 26, another outstanding collection of banging beats, courtesy of French producer The Toxic Avenger. The 14-track sampler, available September 29, features five new hair-raising Toxic tracks, with remixes from Designer Dr*gs, The Juan Maclean, Ladytron, Switch, Acid Girls, Oceleot, Jakwob, Harvard Bass and Burns. The album will be distributed physically for free at all Scion events, various dealerships, and retail shops nationwide. The remixes will be available for purchase at all major online retailers, with 100 percent of the proceeds going back to the label and artists.

The Toxic Avenger, a.k.a. Simon Delacroix, is an electro thrash producer hailing from Paris, France. Taking cues from a wide variety of influences, from intelligent hardcore and punk to 60’s pop, The Toxic Avenger brings us a unique blend of melodic rage and screaming synths that whip audiences into an epic frenzy. His last release, 2007’s Superheroes, was a dancefloor staple, heralding Toxic’s rise to power, and set new standards on the electro scene.

Previously hailed as one of Rolling Stone’s Artists To Watch, The Toxic Avenger has secured a place as one of the top electro producers, and has provided his signature touch on a number of remixes for artists such as Ladytron, Late of the Pier, Chromeo, and Heartsrevolution. Additionally, he has performed worldwide with a slew of respectable artists including MSTRKRFT, Late of the Pier, Black Lips, Yelle, The Teenagers, Vitalic, and the infamous Public Enemy.

To celebrate the release of Scion CD Sampler V 26, the company has also put together the Scion AV Release Tour, a series of electrifying dance parties featuring The Toxic Avenger, along with DJs Mixhell and Franki Chan (the mastermind behind IHEARTCOMIX, label home to Toxic Avenger).

Justin Tranter's not like everybody else. “Why would you want to be like everybody else?” demands the Semi Precious Weapons front man. “Rock'n'roll is supposed to be rebellious, shocking, ridiculous.” The Brooklyn quartet is all that and more: Soulful, sleazy, celebratory tunes that rock as hard and stylishly as Justin swaggers. Voted “Best Band in New York” by readers of the Village Voice last year, Semi Precious Weapons is a band that's thrilled to say they’ve played all-ages gigs at CBGBs, but wouldn't necessarily feel out of place at the John Varvatos store (which recently took over the lease from the legendary music club).
After all, Justin had a make-up artist before SPW had an A&R guy.

On the Perez Hilton Presents tour, sharing the stage with Ladyhawke, Ida Maria, Sliimy and Eric Hutchinson, Semi Precious Weapons are in a class of their own. The band is known for their energy filled, circus-like live shows, which LA Weekly describes as “gun-blazing bitch-rock. Weapons are a hybrid of Bowie-esque stage seduction and Sex Pistols-style insolence.” Before going on tour the band has written and recorded over twenty new demos as they prepare for the recording of their second album. Recording will commence in Los Angeles the day after the tour ends!

The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! Announce October Tour
Diesel: U:Music Global Tour Continues Through 2009
New Album Out Spring 2010

The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! have had a banner year. They signed to Luaka Bop and released their first recordings ever (as part of the 3” of Music series), garnering enthusiastic reviews. They began playing regularly around the east coast, sparking riotous dance ragers everywhere they went. Any young collective would be pretty gratified by these developments even before their sundae had its topping; the cherry on this dessert came courtesy of the trendsetters at Diesel. Every year they assemble an international panel of music hotshots to choose two bands (from thousands of entries) to join their Diesel: U: Music Global Tour. You guessed it: the experts selected The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! for the annual extravaganza. TPDR shared the stage with Kanye West and The Roots in New York and join Peaches for an upcoming show; previous winners include Diplo, the Fiery Furnaces and the Cool Kids.

The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt have a new run of U.S. dates in between their globetrotting obligations with two shows in New York City during CMJ and a plethora of others to choose from. In Baltimore, they open for Junior Boys, in Washington DC they’ll perform in support of Captured by Robots. Meanwhile, in their non-existent spare time they put finishing touches on their full length debut, due out in spring 2010 on Luaka Bop.

For the uninitiated, The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! is a never ending romp of a dance party; looped pianos and saxes race on top of crappy synths and ill beats and something like twenty vocal takes (like seriously rivaling Broken Social Scene-status) are mixed in there somewhere. What makes The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! so special are severely catchy, dance-y pop songs that actually have lyrical content. These are songs about friends, romance and everything else that rules in life, presented in a comic, yet somehow deathly serious, way.

Live, The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! become a whole new beast altogether. Neil is relentless, running through crowds, scaling things, doing acrobatics, all this while wearing a giant Ultimate Protection Suit, consisting of 100 stuffed animals sewn to a jumpsuit, turning him into some kind of childhood head of the bed gone wrong. His instrument: lights. While singing and dancing, Neil is hard at work orchestrating an elaborate light show. Old lamps, giant inflatable storks and cats turn on and off. Strobes, disco balls and every other kitschy item any college student has ever had in their dorm are flashing: think Daft Punk with a $16 budget.

Meanwhile, the Grrrrl Police, an elite force of enthusiastic singers and dancers (the same blessed souls who lend their voices to The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! recordings) parade around dressed as giant pizzas, Christmas trees, houses and every other thing that might make humans feel warm. Together, Neil, the Grrrrl Police and the audience create something rare and spectacular: a really genuinely fun concert. There is no such thing as not singing, there is no such thing as not dancing, and those things exist in a world where there is such a thing as "cool" and "not cool."

This is the Terror Pigeon's world:
there is only "awesome."

Five Finger Death Punch are about to unleash their highly anticipated new album, War Is the Answer, on September 22nd, and will kick off their headlining SHOCK AND RAW Tour that same day.
Before leaving for tour, Death Punch will start with a sold-out, hometown record release party and show in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18th at Wasted Space in the Hard Rock Casino. In addition to the standard version of the album, 5FDP has also packed in some amazing extras into a deluxe edition of the album including a bonus DVD, locker poster, decal, special digi-pack artwork, two bonus tracks, and a fan club membership.5FDP’s legions of fans propelled their first album, The Way Of The Fist, to sell over 350,000 copies.
With the new album and tour, Death Punch are ready to cement their reputation as modern icons of heavy music. Guitarist and founding member Zoltan Bathory relates, “This band is really the ‘people's band’ - we are able to do what we're doing because of the undying support of our fans. We know this, and we put every ounce of energy we got into this to make sure we return the favor.”
Recorded in their hometown of Las Vegas, War Is The Answer was produced by the band and Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne), and was mixed by Randy Staub (Metallica, Motley Crue, Nickelback). The record evolves the band’s already mature sound ranging from the undeniable melodies in “Hard to See” to the brutally nihilistic “Burn It Down” – destined to please fans both new and old. As the hottest new metal artist to emerge in the last two years, 5FDP are poised for stratospheric heights with War Is The Answer: “Hard To See,” their first single from War, is a smash hit at Active Rock radio and the brand new acclaimed video (directed by Matt Silverman) can be seen here. 5FDP are indisputably one of the most popular heavy metal bands today

CD vs Vinyl? Vinyl vs CD?
Wax Tailor says why not both....all in one!

Always immersed in the ever long debate of which is better, CD or Vinyl, Wax Tailor wonders why can't we have both all in one. For the lead single off his third album, 'Say Yes' he has devised a solution to the quandry by releasing it in a format aptly titled CD-VINYL which can be played in a CD player as well as on a turntable and is packaged with the album exclusively at Borders retailers.

IN THE MOOD FOR LIFE
Out on Le Plan September 22, 2009

Wax Tailor's first two albums drew comparisons to the likes of RJD2, Portishead, Avalanches, DJ Shadow, and he is ready to drop his third and best to date, “In the Mood for Life”. He masters the art of reinventing oneself, and although his signature sound of perfectly blended Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and 60s Pop is immediately identifiable, this new album establishes a true evolution both in terms of production and song writing. String instruments, which were once just extras, now assume a more prominent role, and where genres once crossed path from one track to another, they now collide within a track . The resulting sound is denser, more organic and the song writing more finely chiseled. You can join in on his journey when he comes to the US for 12 live dates around the country this October (dates below).
Click HERE for a free download of the first single off the album "Say Yes (feat ASM)". The second single off the album "This Train" will be coming to you soon via MP3 and another incredible video....
