The Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at the University of Michigan-Dearborn
will present “Open Competition: 2010” from June 4 through July 15.
The exhibition features recent works by artists who live and work in Michigan.
“A wide variety of two and three dimensional pieces, rendered in various materials and techniques will be shown in this annual gallery event that brings the work of emerging artists as well as that of more established artists to our campus community and to the audiences we serve,” said Kenneth Gross, director of UM-Dearborn’s Art Museum Project.
The competition is open to artists, 18 years of age or older, living in or working in Michigan. More than $1,000 in prizes will be awarded at a public reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 4.
The Alfred Berkowitz Gallery, which is located on the third floor of UM-Dearborn’s Mardigian Library, is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
