CCS Holds 3rd Annual Alumni Art Exhibition - Friday 4/12 6-8pm

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) is pleased to present the 3rd Annual
Alumni Exhibition: Re/VIEW - Alumni Selections by George N'Namdi. Numerous
members of CCS's distinguished alumni body will be showcased during this
exciting juried visual art showing which will include work from all media
and disciplines. Opening night will be held on Fri., April 13 from 6:00
until 8:00 p.m. at the Valade Family Gallery at the A. Alfred Taubman Center
for Design Education.

George N'Namdi, president of N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, will be
selecting and awarding the top three submitted works. The N'Namdi Center is
a nonprofit organization dedicated to enlightenment through the arts. He is
one of the nation's leading art dealers, with some 30 years experience as a
gallery owner. The Alumni Council is excited about his involvement with this
year's event.

"We are thrilled that George N'Namdi could take part this year. He has a
stellar reputation in the arts community and we are fortunate that he is
lending his expertise to this year's process," says President of CCS Richard
L. Rogers. "Our alumni are at the top of the game in their respective
disciplines. We think that there will be something for everyone to enjoy at
this year's exhibition."

This year's featured alumni artists are Katie Bramlage (Crafts '11), Matthew
Hanna (Fine Arts '86), and Lenore Gimpert (Fine Arts '97). In addition to
being premiere artists, they represent artists at different stages of their
careers, emerging, mid, and established.

Held in the Valade Family Gallery at the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Design
Education, the exhibition will be up until May 25 with gallery hours on
Fridays and Saturdays from noon until 5 p.m. Cash akwards for the juror's
top three works will be made on opening night. The event will feature noted
Techno D.J. and CCS alumnus, Sean Deason of Matrix Records. Deason has
composed a soundtrack for the exhibition, which he will be performing live
the night of the opening. The tracks will be available for download post
opening. The Alumni Scholarship is a merit based award that is given
annually through a competition for current students. The competition is
open to all full-time CCS students who meet the application criteria.
