THIS WEEKEND: The Jamboree in Ypsilanti

Looking for something musical and family-oriented to do this weekend far away from the Jazz festival craziness downtown Detroit, or the AB&E in Pontiac? Michigan music abounds at The First Annual Jamboree at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti. MCB's own Drew Bender will be there to document the fun.

The Jamboree is Washtenaw County's only outdoor, family-friendly Music Festival highlighting Bluegrass, Roots, Americana and other Regional Acts. Alongside local artists, friends and neighbors, The Jamboree is sure to be a great time for all ages.
The fun starts today at 4pm and goes to midnight and Saturday it runs from 11am to midnight. Cost at the gate is Friday - $15 / Saturday - $20. This is a non-profit event and all proceeds will go back to the community.

On September 4th and 5th, a new kind of entertainment will be injected into the area. The Jamboree at Riverside Park grants you the opportunity to experience a unique blend of both vintage and contemporary family fun.

What can you expect at The Jamboree? Well...
A child friendly atmosphere, with a "kid tent" and activities
Two stages featuring regional and international talent
Local Artisans displaying their works
Great local food- with Vegetarian options
And a selection of local and nationally brewed beers
...Good music. Good food. Great fun.

The volunteers behind The Jamboree have worked hard to create an event that not only provides a fun creative atmosphere for the community, but also helps attract the fresh new faces, businesses and cultures from far and wide. Held at scenic Riverside Park in historic Depot Town, in Ypsilanti, MI, this brand–new event has been established as a non-profit organization in order to direct all proceeds back into the community for the economic development and capital improvements for our parks that will help us sustain a fun and attractive destination to work, live and play.
