Bringing together the pulse of Cuba and the rhythms of South Beach, the historic Detroit Yacht Club will be transformed into a setting for Detroit’s finest as Dolce Moda of Royal Oak, Melinda MeMe, and DJ Jenny LaFemme, present, “One Night in Cuba,” on Friday, September 25, 2009 from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am. “When guests arrive they will be transported to an era that evokes 1920s Cuban glamour mixed with the sophistication of South Beach,” said Melinda Anderson, the producer of the event and owner of MeMe Designs + Events. “We are transforming the ballroom of the yacht club into a Miami-like setting complete with private cabanas and lounges.”

Anderson said the yacht club’s veranda will be the spot for guests to not only check out the spectacular views of the Detroit skyline, but also enjoy hand-rolled Cuban cigars by La Casa de la Habana www.lacasadelahabana.com and mojitos while being serenaded by the Sean Blackman http://www.seanblackman.com and Lola Morales.

Morales is a native of San Francisco that has been traveling the globe with her band performing her distinctive style of music; a combination of rich, melodic vocals over raw-edged beats and driving rhythms.
