Since 1972, “The Joe” has showcased some of the nation’s elite college hockey teams during the CCHA Championship. Throughout the regular season, CCHA member teams battle to earn one offour spots in the CCHA Championship at “The Joe.” These top four teams will be involved in semi-final action on March 20, 2009 with the winning teams competing in the CCHA Championship March 21, 2009.
The CCHA tournament champion will receive the league’s automatic bid tothe NCAA tournament. Last year’s action-packed CCHA Championship included the No. 1 seedMichigan Wolverines taking on the No. 4 seed Northern Michigan Wildcats, and the No. 2 seed Miami Redhawks battling the No. 3 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
