Review of an Amazing Evening at Rockin’ on the Riverfront Friday Night

Detroit's #1 for Classic Rock 94.7 FM,  and Chevrolet  put on  a fantastic night of Rock n' Roll.  Thank you both for sponsoring live music on the Detroit River -- for Free!  It's a beautiful setting. And it was great seeing everybody out enjoying a night of music and the Detroit Riverfront.

Patio Dining at Joe Muer Seafood

We started the evening at Joe Muers Seafood Restaurant. They have an awesome patio. Sushi as appetizer, lobster and Rainbow Trout for dinner,  Key Lime Pie for desert,   and a few signature Bloody Marys made for a very fine visit. Curt the server, hope to see you again soon!

Coast Guard docking at the Port of Detroit
After Joe Muers we walked the Riverfront. This is always one of my favorite things to do. I love watching the freighters, pleasure boats, and working vessels. Last night the Coast Guard docked at the Port of Detroit and that moment in itself was amazing -- you can't help but feeling proud to be an American.

The Romantics rocked the Riverfront!

After dinner and a walk of the Detroit Riverfront,  we enjoyed the music of The Romantics and Amy Gore. Both bands are from Detroit. Amy's set was too short. But I liked her new song about Cruising around Detroit in a car. The Romantics major ROCKED! It had to be one of the best sets of music I've heard in a long time. This band has great rhythm and sound -- everything that Rock and Roll is about.  Where they've been of late I do not know,  but, Im glad they're back and playing music.

Best part of this " what happened this weekend" is that it's only just getting started. Get out and see the upcoming concerts. Bring family and friends. Upcoming  Friday's:

July 19: America (A Horse with No Name, Sister Golden Hair)
July 26: Grand Funk Railroad (Some Kind of Wonderful, We’re an American Band)
Aug. 2: Great White (Once Bitten Twice Shy, Rock Me)
Aug. 9: Loverboy (Working for the Weekend, Turn Me Loose)
Aug. 16: Night Ranger (Sister Christian, (You Can Still) Rock in America)
