Self-proclaimed "trash poet" JOHN WESLEY COLEMAN returns with his unique blend of indie rock slack and witty storytelling. Hailing from Irving, TX and living much like a drifter in East Austin, COLEMAN started engaging himself in a variety of creative activities in the mid-2000s: performing with psychedelic five-piece GOLDEN BOYS, doing standup comedy, painting, writing books and movie scripts, and recording solo material. Last year he released two full lengths, The Last Donkey Show on the indubitably excellent Goner Records and Trans Am Summer Blues on Tic Tac Totally, both offering more of his uniquely colorful tales with a hint of maturity. He's got a nother new LP in the chamber, Lizard of Pop, coming to ya from the smokin' gun known to the world as Burger Records. Joining him for a night of madness and mayhem are Memphis-based trio THE SHEIKS. Bringing that fine cyt's rock'n'roll swagger to their distinct brand of garagey psychedelia, the band's debut, self-released album, Witches and Mystics, blends howling vocals and explosive drumming with reverbed-to-hell guitars that are drenched in filthy distortion.
