Happy Halloween Month!
Thee Detroit Halloween Cover Band is playing 3 shows!!!
Friday, October 18th at the Lager House
Tuesday, October 22nd at The Loving Touch
Saturday October 26th at The Park Bar
The leaves are turnin' and there is a fall crispness in the air which means many Detroit bands are practicing their cover band songs and creating costumes for upcoming Halloween shows.
Some say Thee Detroit Halloween Cover Band started this whole idea of the Halloween cover band sets when in 2008 they covered The Sonics for the Zombie Dance Party at the Magic Stick.
At that time the concept was pretty new. Detroit artists covering their favorite bands is like kids dressing up as their favorite super heroes usually resulting in a mashup of bandmate swaps playing both fan favorites as well as obscure selections.
Thee Detroit Halloween Cover Band is TJ Grech(Pretty Ghouls), John Szymanski(The Hentchmen, SSM), Ray Thompson(The Oscillating Fanclub), Richie Wohlfeil(Danny and the Darleans, Low and Behold) and Frank Woodman(Caveman Woodman, Woodman). Along with The Sonics, they have covered The Cramps in 2009, The Mummies in 2010, The Monks in 2011 and The Troggs last year. This year they are Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs!
Thee Detroit Halloween Cover Band have shows on Friday, October 18th at the Lager House, Tuesday, October 22nd at The Loving Touch and Saturday October 26th at The Park Bar.
Get dressed up and go check them out for some dancing good fun!
