L.A. buzz band, NO are playing Pontiac's The Crofoot Ballroom tonight with Yann Tiersen. NO released their full length debut album, El Prado, this past February on the Arts & Crafts label to stellar reviews. Their music is emotional, memorable, melodically textured and sometimes haunting. El Prado is one of the best debut albums in recent memory, the album is consistently solid and NO seem to on the verge of breaking into the big time. NO were recently booked for the incredible lineup of Mexico's Corona Capital festival among Jack White, St. Vincent and Real Estate and it's quite likely that they'll be making rounds on the US festival circuit very soon. NO have recently been featured in Interview Magazine, NME, FILTER, The LA Times, Consequence of Sound and NPR. Their sound is reminiscent of a more accessible version of The National and they hold similarities to Interpol and Arcade Fire. Song's like "Leave The Door Wide Open", "Monday" and "Stay With Me" seem tremendously radio ready, yet retain an indie sensibility. Of all the new bands that have emerged in 2014 already, NO is one band that seems destined to be around for a long time.
Check them out and catch them tonight in Pontiac!
