Goodnight, Texas is the transcontinental collaboration between San Francisco's Avi Vinocur (formerly of the Stone Foxes) and Chapel Hill's Patrick Dyer Wolf. The bands names is actually derived from the exact midpoint between their two homes, which came out to be the Texas panhandle town of Goodnight.
The pair of songwriters found their stylistic midpoint amidst old wooden instruments and a vision of late nineteenth century blue collar America - a grittier, simpler, more mysterious world full of raw pain and beauty, reflected in their debut album "A Long Life of Living." The band starts their summer tour in early July that will see the band sharing the stage with artists such as the Avett Brothers, Mountain Goats and Pokey Lafarge (Jack White's Third Man Records newest signing).
