The Handgrenades (FREE)

This Saturday, don’t miss a terrific line‐up of local and touring acts, live at The Loving Touch! Following the Woodward Dream Cruise, The Loving Touch will play host to a FREE show, featuring Detroit indie rockers The HandGrenades, Chicago’s The Future Laureates, and local favorite George Morris. Doors are at 9pm, the show is free of charge, and 21+ are welcome.

After performing with Chicago’s The Future Laureates in the Windy City this past June, The HandGrenades are finishing the summer strong and bringing TFL to experience Detroit Rock City, here in The Mitten. George Morris (formerly of The Satin Peaches) will be opening the show, and special guest DJs will also be keeping the music going throughout the evening. With classic cars galore, Ferndale is undoubtedly the place to be this Saturday…and this Saturday night, make your way to The Loving Touch for a trio of talented artists that are sure to bring you to your feet. Trust us, your ears will thank you.

The HandGrenades have made quite a name for themselves since their formation in 2008, consistently delivering catchy hooks and 3‐part harmonies. In 2011, The HGs hit the studio to record Three Cheers for the Wonder Years – an EP mixed by Kevin McMahon (Real Estate, Titus Andronicus) and released by Sound Artifacts Music. Following a stint at 2012’s SXSW, The HandGrenades partnered with Jim Diamond
at Ghetto Recorders (The White Stripes, Electric Six) to independently release their full‐length record, The
Morning After. Both albums are available online in the US and EU via digital distributors, and the band is
currently in‐studio recording tracks for a third record.
