The Snow Queen is a tale told in seven different stories and focuses on the struggles between good and evil following Gerda, and her friend Kai. The stories are as followed: About the Mirror and its Pieces, A Little Boy and A Little Girl, The Flower Garden of the Woman Who Knew Magic, The Prince and the Princess, The Little Robber Girl, The Lapp Woman and the Finn Woman, and What Happened at the Snow Queen's Palace and What Happened Afterwards. The Snow Queen is one of H.C. Andersen's longest but, highly renowned stories. The story of the Snow Queen has been adapted and inspired in many forms and was recently the inspired story of the Walt Disney Animation Studios' film, Frozen.
PuppetART's rendition of the Snow Queen is their largest production of the year and an original of their own retold in a musical. The story takes a hometown spin of the classic fairytale of the two friends, Gerda and Kai. It tells the tale of the two friend's experiences of good and evil as Gerda sets off to rescue Kai from the Snow Queen.
