In the wake of the headlines for mega-conventions such as San-Diego Comic Con in California, Gen Con in Indianapolis, and Dragon Con in Atlanta, a first year convention right in our backyard is debuting next weekend, and is touting some high caliber entertainment. Geek Fan Expo aims to bring geeks, fans, and nerds together for an all-inclusive celebration of Geek-Fandom September 5, 6 and 7 at the Double Tree Hotel in Dearborn. Special guests include voice actor Rob Paulsen and Star Wars/science fiction author Timothy Zahn.
Rob Paulsen is the voice behind over 250 animated characters including Yakko Warner and Pinky from Animaniacs, half the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Arthur in The Tick and hundreds more. Timothy Zahn is the bestselling author of ten Star Wars novels as well as forty five novels and over a hundred short stories. The musical guest for Geek Fan Expo will be Stone Clover, Detroit’s own high energy drinking troupe with special guest Ford Theater Reunion.
In addition to the guests, Geek Fan Expo offers an immersive fan experience with cosplay events, panel discussions, nerdy flirty speed dating, a celebrity sing-a-long, paranormal investigations and something for every geek to love.
